Our Lady of Snow, Volavje

This is very special church with beautiful story behind its name. It is from 11th century and is the oldest churches in continental Croatia that was never devastated. You should definitely visit, it is near Jastrebarsko.
As a story goes; once upon a time people of Volavje decided to build a church but huge quarel broke about what would be a good spot for it. They could not reach an agreement and it seems it will never be built. They prayed to the Lady and in the middle of the summer snow felt only on this special spot. So they called the church Our Lady of Snow.
